Opening:

- Immediate Grade for having TWO notebooks marked and ready to go for 2nd Nine Weeks.

2. Review the details about the character you created on Friday.
3. With a randomly chosen partner, share your descriptions and pictures.
- #3: List information about the "other" character (your partner's character) on 125
Work Period:
4. Consider possible settings with your partner.
- #4: Brainstorm a list of locations where these two characters might randomly encounter one another
5. Together, choose a location and describe the setting (Time and Place) using sensory details
- Write details for #5
6. Discuss a possible CONFLICT that would arise between the two characters. Or, describe a conflict that would bring these two character together in some way.
- Take notes for #6 on page 126 - work together to sort through the Narrative Structure Diagram on page 126.
Closing:
7. Discuss with your partner the direction of the narrative you have been considering:
- What might the two characters say to each other?
- Role-Play: Try out different conflicts
- Role-Play: Feel Free to stop and start over
