Opening:
1. With your partner, share notes for #6 on page 126 - work together to understand the Narrative Structure Diagram you created on page 126. 

Work Period:
2. Discuss with your partner the possibility of a conversation between the characters.
  • What might the two characters say to each other?  
    • Role-Play: Try out different complications in the Rising Action
      • *Feel Free to stop and start over if the dialogue doesn't work out.
3. In your journal: 
  • Work independently for 10 minutes and write a dialogue between the characters.  Use:
    • dialogue tags
    • proper punctuation and capitalization

4. Openings/Leads/Hooks
  • Read through the Leads provided on page 127 #8.
    • Which Leads worked the best?
    • Which are the best "hooks"?
    • What seems to make for a great hook?
Closing:
5. In your class journal, 
  • Work independently and Write a Hook for your "Chance Encounter"
