Opening:
1. Review #1 and #2 on page 208.  

  • What does Walter "DO"?
  • Why does he DO these things?
  • How do you describe Walter? 
    • Word Bank/Word Sort
2. Look at your topic sentence...
  • How can you improve your topic sentence?
    • Look at your DICTION
    • Rewrite using precise diction and parallel structure.
Work Period:
3. Preview #3 on page 209

  • Remind me how "Flipped" is written
4. Pretend you are Walter's teachers and complete the graphic organizer on page 209.
  • Imagine you are discussing him with another teacher...
    • What's he like? (Use your adjectives)
    • How does he act? 
      • Use Action Verbs (ex. paragraph 19, 205)
    • Why does he act that way?
    • What advice would you give about him to his teacher next year? 
Closing:
5. On page 210, write a letter from either Mrs. Conway or Mr. Lasher to the teacher who will have Walter in class next year.
  • If it helps, role play with those around you...
    • Imagine you are having a conversation between two teachers and discuss Walter.
