Group A: Sal
Group B: Phoebe
- What are the most significant events in the girl's Physical and Emotional Journey?
- What are the most significant character traits of the girl's parents?
- Who else seems important in her story? Why?
- What do you predict or infer from these events and these characters?

5. Class Notebook: 4/4: Subplots
Create a bullet list:
- Gram and Gramps
- What is their timeline together? Do they have a plot?
- Can we call this a "subplot"?
- What other subplots are there?
- Phoebe?
- Ben and Sal?
- The Lunatic?
- Life in Kentucky?
- The Road Trip?
- Confusing, right?
6. Make sure you have answered #4 on the handout from last week.
- In Literary Analysis, it is NOT so much about the right answer as it is about providing an opinion on a topic and supporting it with various pieces of textual evidence that combine to create your opinion.
Closing:
7. Under all of the notes you've taken for "Physical and Emotional Journeys" and Subplots, create a graphic organizer or thinking map that helps you analyze and explore the concepts of Plot and Subplot.
